With flavors of black and red raspberry, black cherry and hints of smoke, bacon and cracked pepper, Tre Anelli’s Barbera is robust and intensely satisfying. Fans of our ‘07 Barbera will note that this year’s offering, which spent 21 months patiently barrel aging, has more depth and rounded tannins, making it an extremely food-friendly wine. Try it with Italian cuisine, like penne all’arrabbiata or spicy shrimp fra diavolo. Or brighten up rich, fatty foods like herb roasted duck with Barbera’s higher acidity. It also pairs well with earthy dishes like chanterelle risotto or grilled Portobello mushroom topped with Gorgonzola cream sauce.
