With this wine you can almost feel the Spanish sophistication with a touch of California attitude. Tempranillo is the “flagship” grape that put Spain on the map for truly great wines from the Rioja and Ribera Del Duero regions in the North Central part of the country. Though now far from its indigenous roots of the homeland, this pride of Spain was one of the first grapes introduced to California soil some 300 years ago by Father Junipero Serra, and has found a home in the specific climate of the Santa Ynez Valley. Crafted in our characteristic full bodied, succulent style the rich red raspberry flavors are supported by hints of bacon, leather, vanilla and a little mocha on the finish. Pull out the paella pan, a bottle or two of this and you’ll be dancing the flamenco in a pair of those thick-heeled black shoes whether you like it or not.
