An old saying goes “the devil is in the details” – case in point is Tre Anelli’s painstakingly created red blend called Diavolessa (which means “she-devil” in Italian, just in case you were wondering). Two of the beloved grapes of Piedmont, Dolcetto and Barbera, make up more than half of this proprietary blend which also includes Petite Sirah and Zinfandel. Meticulously tasted over many months, carefully blended to bring out the best of each varietal and then bottle aged, this wine was a labor of love. Diavolessa slides smoothly across your palate with flavors of cranberry, tart cherry, raspberry and hints of cinnamon and cigar box. Balanced acidity and tannins combined with enticing flavors make Diavolessa incredibly food friendly. Try some paired with hard cheeses, tomato-based sauces, spicy dishes, barbecued meat.
