Descending into Ballard Canyon when there’s been enough rain and the hills are green, we suspect more than one person has decided right then and there they want to move to the Santa Barbara wine country. Of course part of the gorgeous panorama is the Tierra Alta vineyard property sloping uphill behind an unassuming wooden sign. It seems this must be one of the finer rewards for doing good work in life; and so with the wine, the rich blueberry, blackberry and chocolaty flavors reach a level of intensity and satisfaction that you suddenly know why you worked so hard all day.

Tierra Alta Vineyard sits at very high elevation in the Santa Ynez valley. This elevation provides great exposure to the long days of sunshine we have here in Santa Ynez.
