Winemaker Notes

With tongue firmly planted in cheek and our apologies to Sting – “Roooo-Sanne! You don’t have to turn into red wine!” It may sound odd, but in France, Roussanne is often blended with red wine. Here at Consilience, we think our elegant Roussanne shines on its own quite beautifully - showcasing subtle aromatics of white flowers and chamomile with flavors of pineapple, Japanese pear and white peach. While you can enjoy this enticing white without food, it matches deliciously with seafood dishes like crab cakes, halibut with thyme butter or grilled garlic shrimp. Or for an international flair, pair it with Moroccan peach roasted chicken, Thai pork satay with spicy peanut sauce or coconut curried fish.

Varietal Characteristics

Roussanne is an herbaceous and unctuous white Rhone varietal doused with tones of green tea and honey. It has commonly been used as a blending varietal for both white and red wines.

Vineyard Source

Camp 4 Vineyard is ideally set in a warm climate zone, on the edge of Happy Canyon. The vineyard is relatively flat which allows for even and consistent ripening of the grapes.
